Dysautonomia Foundation 2008 Basic Science Research Conference
The Dysautonomia Foundation 2008 Basic
Science Research Conference was held on
September 18th and 19th in New York City.
Experts from around the world
came together to discuss current and future directions for
familial dysautonomia (FD) research, including animal models, genetic therapies and the function of IKAP/elongator.
The goals of the conference included sharing ideas about FD research,
promoting collaboration among FD researchers and shaping the directions
of future FD research projects. In addition, ideas presented at the
conference will help the Dysautonomia Foundation shape the parameters
for a new RFP for FD research projects.
