This year we commemorate the 65th year of the FD Journal--its “Blue Sapphire” anniversary.
In 1955, the First Annual Journal went to print less than one year after the 1954 incorporation of the Dysautonomia Association and was published in conjunction with the Association’s first picnic, held at the Mary Harkness Convalescent Home in Port Chester, New York.
I’m sure that Dr. Harry L. Heyman, President at the time, would be proud of how much the FD Foundation has accomplished over the last 65 years, including establishing the Dysautonomia Treatment Center at NYU, funding research that led to the identification of the FD gene, and most importantly, advancing medical care that has led to longer and fuller lives for those affected by familial dysautonomia.
Your generous support of the 2020 FD Journal will help the Foundation continue our important work, investing in state-of-the-art medical care, cutting-edge scientific research, educational outreach and community awareness, enabling us to meet the needs of people with FD and those who love and care for them.
Please join us in paying tribute to those who came before us by placing an ad in the 65th Annual FD Journal in honor or in memory of someone special to you.
Thank you for your support!
